Event 1: August 6th 土方巽 舞踏 大解剖 VI HIJIKATA '68-'70-'72
We will broadcast this event on Ustream! [ August 6th 2011, from 14:30 (JST)]1970年をはさんで、1968年と1972年は土方巽の舞踏にとって、きわめて重要な年である。1968年の舞踏公演〈土方巽と日本人〉はそれまでの舞踏を総括するBUTOHであり、1972年の舞踏公演〈四季のための二十七晩〉はその後の創造行為を方向づけるBUTOHであった。
舞踏大解剖VIでは、土方巽の舞踏史のメルクマールとなった2公演の記録映像「肉体の叛乱」と「疱瘡譚」を上演する。
そして、そのはざまの1970年、大阪万博でのみどり館、アストロラマで上映された「誕生」から土方巽の出演シーンを特別上映する。
1970年以来一度も公開されず、幻の映像となっていた映画「誕生」。調査プロジェクト「Project Rebirth」の活動によって再発見された70mm上映フィルムから、ついに北海道ロケにおける土方巽の貴重な映像が甦る。
The Great Anatomy of Hijikata Tatsumi's Butoh VI "HIJIKATA '68-'70-'72"
The year 1968, 1972, and 1970 in between have great importance to Hijikata Tatsumi’s Butoh. In Hijikata Tatumi and Japanese (土方巽と日本人、1968), Hijikata summed up his Butoh in 50s and 60s. The performance Twenty-Seven Nights for Four Seasons（四季のための二十七晩） in 1972 shaped his activity in later years.
In this event we will screen the documents from the two stages -Rebellion of the Body（肉体の叛乱） and Story of Smallpox（疱瘡譚）, with the special showing of scenes from The Birth.
The Birth is the movie screened in Expo’70, the Midori Kan（みどり館） pavilion which introduced a multi-dimensional screening system called Astrorama. In The Birth Hijikata Tatsumi starred as a sorcerer, who announces the birth of humankind.
Astrorama was disassembled when Expo’70 ended, and “The Birth” has never been screened since then.
From the film rediscovered by the activity of “Project Rebirth”, Hijikata Tatsumi in 1970 will finally come back!
