"Back to the Future: Record the Future 2"––Collective Memory 3 Technical Edition (2 sessions): Workshop for co-exploring local culture and memories through video material
私たちが行ってきた「コレクティヴ・メモリー」では、個人の持っている記憶を地域や集団の記憶として公共化することについて「写真」を切り口に学んできました。都市において文化やコミュニティの分断を防ぎ、蓄積されてきた文化の接続を図ることは、大きな課題です。新旧コミュニティのコミュニケーションの創出を目指し、2年間におよぶ活動を行ってきました。
「バックトゥザフューチャー2：未来を記録せよ」は古代から現代にいたる芸術作品を対象とした領域横断的な保存・継承研究をされている平諭一郎氏を招聘し、いかに作品を保存・継承していくのかについて考えます。古代の仏像彫刻や建築から現代におけるメディア芸術作品へいたるまで、各時代で全く異なる技術的な問題がある一方で共通する連続した問題があります。古代から培われてきた保存・継承の問題設定や方法を、現代と無関係だと切断するのではなく、現代と接続することによって、新たに見えてくる地平があります。
1994年に作られたCD-ROM作品『KATSUHIKO HIBINO INTERACTIVE EXHIBITION 日比野克彦インタラクティブ作品集』を現代の環境下でいかに体験することができるのかという問いを一つの窓口とし、その地平すなわち新たな保存・継承問題のアプローチの仕方について考えます。大量生産・大量廃棄、新たなメディア・テクノロジーの登場によるそれ以前のメディア・テクノロジーの陳腐化などが起こっている現代において「コミュニティとアーカイヴ」というテーマを一つの背景とし、我々が何を残し、何を受け継ぐのかという問いかけから、どのようなアーカイヴを作るべきかについて考える契機とします。

Yuichiro TAIRA
Creatve Inheritance for the FUTURE Associate Professor
Research on the preservation and inheritance of cultural properties and cross-disciplinary art. Promotes creative archives that generate new expressions from artistic resources such as the creative process, surroundings, and practical knowledge, and plans, discusses, and produces research projects and exhibitions. His major projects include the exhibitions "Art Conservation and Restoration - Legacy for the Future" (2018) and "Re-enactment - Instructions and Procedures" (2021).
